Welcome to Petne. You upload a photo of your cat or dog, and we bring them to life as a desktop companion for Windows and macOS. These terms explain the deal between you and us in plain language. By creating an account, uploading a photo, or making a purchase, you agree to them.
What Petne is
You upload a photo of your pet, and we create a lightly stylized companion that keeps their real coat and markings, along with a set of lifelike moves, packaged to run on your desktop.
What you can create — the number of moves and any extras — depends on the plan you choose. The details shown on the plan page when you buy are what apply to your order.
Your account
Please give accurate account information and keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.
Photos you upload
You must have the right to use any photo you upload. Upload photos of your own pet — not other people's photos, images of people, or anything unlawful or infringing.
You grant us a limited licence to process your photo only to create your pet. We delete your uploaded photo once your pet is made. You keep all rights to your original photo.
One payment, and what “yours to keep” means
Petne is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
You can download your pet and keep it forever. We also host it for you, free, for 3 years (renewable), so it is ready to sync to a new computer.
Before the 3-year hosting period ends, we will remind you by email so you can renew or download your pet. We will not delete your hosted pet without notice.
Ownership and use
Your finished pet is yours to use personally on your desktop.
The Petne software, brand, designs, and underlying models remain ours. Please don't resell, redistribute, sub-license, or commercially exploit the generated assets without our permission.
About content created with AI
Your companion is created with AI. Results can vary with the quality, angle, and lighting of your photo.
We aim for it to be unmistakably them — and you preview it free before you pay. If something isn't right, reach out and we'll make it right.
Refunds and EU withdrawal
Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.
If you are in the EU, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. The conditions — including any agreement to begin creating your pet immediately — are explained and confirmed at checkout.
Acceptable use
Please don't misuse Petne: no reverse engineering, scraping, or interfering with the service, and no uploading unlawful or infringing content.
We may suspend or end access for accounts that break these terms.
Service availability and liability
Petne is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We may update, improve, or pause features, and we will give reasonable notice of significant changes.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
